Intelligent, loyal, playful and sometimes somewhat independant, affectionate, well tempered, calm and at times intense, a good watchdog without being aggressive, the Berger Picard is a wonderful dog.

You will have to educate him by using patience and treats (food or toys) and of course, positive reinforcement.

The Berger Picard is an excellent family dog and in the house, he will make himself discreet without ever being far from his humans friends.

This dog is very sensitive to your emotions. This is why it is so important to be firm but calm and always use kindness, patience and consistency during his education and throughout his life. He particularly loves being pet by his humans friends, this is the best way you can reward him.

Energy level

This dog's energy level is moderate. You must realize though that he is a herding dog. So he likes to work. He will of course enjoys herding and other performance sports.
